2018 ASOC/ACT Region Catchment Groups Art Exhibition

This year our independent judge for the competition was the renowned Master Pastelist Amanda McLean and her selections for the major prizes follow. Amanda also selected a series of Honourable Mentions that will be included in our Album of the event – forming Part II of these results.

Best-in-Show – the Icon Water Prize of $2,000 to Annette Rennie for her Oil Painting – “Scrivener Dam”. Judges Comment – Has great impact for a small work beautiful and confident handling medium, greta sense of scale

The Molonglo Catchment Group Art Prize of $500 to Zhanna Stevens for her Pastel – “Descended from the Sky”. Judges Comment – Expressive handling of medium, great atmospheric effects. Like the Idea of soldiers/people as our Heritage

The Southern ACT Catchment Group Art Prize of $300 to Michaela Laurie for her Miniature: “The Gate to Mugga-Mugga”. Judges Comment – Just little gem. An intimate view of a larger subject.
